PHILADELPHIA (September 26, 2023) – The District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday released the following statement on a Municipal Court judge’s dismissal of all criminal charges, including Murder, against former Philadelphia Police Officer Mark Dial, for his role in the fatal shooting last month of Eddie Irizarry:

“The District Attorney’s Office disagrees with the decision by Municipal Court Judge Wendy L. Pew to dismiss all criminal charges against defendant Mark Dial for the killing of Eddie Irizarry on August 14, 2023.
