PHILADELPHIA (August 26, 2026) — District Attorney Larry Krasner and law enforcement partners highlighted nine suspects on Wednesday wanted in connection with homicides committed in Northwest and South Philadelphia since 2020. Authorities are asking the public to provide tips on the whereabouts of these individuals (please see detailed information regarding the homicides below).
Update: Fugitive Zymire Hughes (DOB 11/27/2003) was apprehended Tuesday in Las Vegas by the U.S. Marshals Service and is awaiting extradition to Philadelphia. Hughes is accused of carrying out a series of assaults and threats against individuals in Center City earlier this month while wearing a Halloween-style mask.
Zymire Hughes is expected to face the following charges:
- Aggravated Assault (F1)
- Possession of an Instrument of Crime (M1)
- Terroristic Threats (M1)
- Simple Assault (M2)
- Reckless Endangerment of Another Person (REAP) (M2)
- Other related summary offenses
“Whether someone wanted for a serious crime remains in Philadelphia or travels thousands of miles away, we will work day and night with our law enforcement partners to find them and bring them back to face justice,” said District Attorney Larry Krasner. “I want to thank the public and the U.S. Marshals for their help in locating and apprehending Mr. Hughes to ensure he is held accountable for his actions. We are asking the public to help us do the same for these nine individuals who remain wanted for violent homicides. If you know where they are, please share that information with law enforcement.”
“The Philadelphia Police Department will continue to work tirelessly to arrest these individuals who committed these heinous murders so that the families of the victims can receive some measure of closure,” said Philadelphia Police Staff Inspector Ernest Ransom. “We encourage anyone who knows their whereabouts to contact police and we encourage the individuals to turn themselves in before anyone else is harmed.”
