PHILADELPHIA (October 27, 2025)— The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is releasing the below statement at the request of the Parents of Kada Scott:
We, the parents of Kada Scott, first wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mayor Cherelle Parker, the citizens of Philadelphia, and countless supporters throughout the region for the overwhelming outpouring of love, compassion, and prayers shown to our family during this devastating time. Your support has given us strength as we continue to navigate the unimaginable loss of our daughter. We are truly humbled by the care and concern that so many have expressed on behalf of our family. At this time, we want to make it known that this will be our final public statement until after our beloved daughter has been laid to rest. All questions regarding funeral arrangements may be directed to Meachem & Prioleau Funeral Home at (215) 420-2117. We are also deeply grateful for the cooperation, transparency, and commitment demonstrated by District Attorney Larry Krasner and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office throughout this process. Please understand that any future information, clarifications, or concerns will come directly from us — her parents — or through our legal representatives. We will not be issuing statements through social media or external media outlets. Moving forward, all inquiries related to the criminal proceedings and victim services should be directed to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, as the DAO is working diligently to seek justice on behalf of our family. All other legal-related inquiries should be directed to The Marrone Law Firm, in care of Attorney Joseph Marrone or Attorney Keir Bradford-Gray. We respectfully ask that the public and media continue to honor our privacy as we prepare to lay Kada to rest, while we focus on healing and honoring her life with dignity.
