PHILADELPHIA (November 13, 2025) — Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced a Call To Action ahead of World Human Rights Day on December 10th, 2025. DA Krasner was joined by members of the DAO’s Special Investigations Unit and Law Division, including Assistant District Attorneys’ Vincent Corrigan (Chief, DAO’s Special Investigation Unit), Brian Collins (DAO’s Special Investigations Unit), Peter Andrews (Chief, DAO’s Federal Litigations Unit), ADA Katie Ernst (Deputy, DAO’s Law Division).

The District Attorney discussed his role in presenting to the United Nation’s Human Rights Council at the Information Meeting on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Process in the United States of America last week in Geneva, Switzerland alongside Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Elected Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, and other officials. The meeting focused on the United States’ persistent non-compliance with Article 4 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the broad and prolonged use of national emergency powers that continue to operate without the mandatory notifications to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

District Attorney Larry Krasner invites all other reformed prosecutors to increase their advocacy, engagement and protection of marginalized communities as we fight for the human rights of all Americans, undocumented people, and our neighbors. A human rights prosecutor’s office is one that protects Black, brown, and poor people as well as victims of crime, immigrants, wrongfully convicted people, and those who feel voiceless.

“People deserve Human Rights. Philly deserves Human Rights,” said Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. “And as your elected District Attorney, I will protect your human rights.”
