District Attorney Larry Krasner Charges Northeast Philly Couple with Child Endangerment and Other Related Offenses

PHILADELPHIA (July 8, 2026) — District Attorney Larry Krasner and the DAO’s Family Violence & Sexual Assault Unit approved the following charges on Wednesday against Defendants Thomas (DOB: 11/16/1982) and Megan Bach (DOB: 1/8/1982) for endangering the welfare of their two children, and other related offenses, following a criminal investigation at a home on the 7100 block of Whitaker Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office approved the following charges against each defendant: 

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (F2) (2 counts)
  • Criminal Conspiracy (F2)
  • Possession of an Instrument of Crime (PIC) (M1) (2 Counts)
  • Prohibited Offensive Weapons (POW) (M1)
  • Reckless Endangerment of Another Person (REAP) (M2) (2 counts)

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026 on the 7100 block of Whitaker Avenue, law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at the home and found two young children under the supervision of the Bachs, living in deplorable, unhygienic conditions without access to basic necessities. Also located inside the home were firearms. The Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS) is involved to ensure the children receive necessary resources.

Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office requested $999,999 in bail for both defendants. The Philadelphia Courts set bail at $125,000 each. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 20, 2026. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
