DA Larry Krasner Statement on Shooting of Philadelphia Police Officer

PHILADELPHIA (December 22, 2021) – District Attorney Larry Krasner on Wednesday issued the following statement on the shooting of a Philadelphia Police officer responding to a robbery Tuesday night:“I join Philadelphians in wishing this brave officer a swift and full recovery from his serious injuries, which thankfully are not life-threatening. I want to thank his fellow officers and the medical team at Temple University Hospital for working selflessly to save lives following this incident, including the life of the individual believed to be responsible for shooting this officer and for the armed robbery of a civilian. That individual remains hospitalized in critical condition due to an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.“Once again, our officers were able to bring a dangerous suspect into custody without firing a single shot. “My office is in close contact with Philadelphia Police as they lead the investigation into this matter. Depending on the recovery of the suspect and when appropriate, we will be releasing additional information about prosecution.”
