For the Commonwealth: Assistant District Attorney Keion Cook

Thanks to Assistant District Attorney Keion Cook (currently of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Carjacking Enforcement Unit) for helping secure justice in a case involving a defendant accused of committing armed robbery in a store on the 2500 block of Girard Avenue in March 2022. The defendant entered the store and brandished a firearm before demanding money from a worker at a cash register. The victim engaged in a struggle with the defendant and managed to wrest the gun from him. The victim then detained the defendant until police arrived and arrested him. The defendant was found guilty of Aggravated Assault, Robbery, and related firearm charges, after a waiver trial by the Hon. Roxanne Covington. He is scheduled for sentencing later this month.
