PHILADELPHIA (October 12, 2022) – District Attorney Larry Krasner on Wednesday issued the following statement on an arrest made as part of an investigation of a mass shooting outside of Roxborough High School last month:
“Philadelphia Police have arrested, and my office has charged Yaaseen Bivins (DOB: 4/15/2001) with Murder, 4 counts of Aggravated Assault, and related offenses for his role in the mass shooting outside Roxborough High School on 9/27/2022 that left a 14-year-old dead and four other teenagers wounded. Our office has previously approved Murder and related charges against another suspect, Dayron Burney-Thorn, who remains at large. Philadelphia Police and our partners in law enforcement continue to tirelessly investigate this incident, and we ask for the public’s help in identifying the remaining suspects involved so that they can be apprehended by law enforcement and held accountable in a court of law.”
