PHILADELPHIA (October 14, 2025)—Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and members of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office External Engagement and Government Affairs Division announced on Tuesday that nine community-based victim services organizations will receive a total of $810,000 in funding.

These groups are contracted with the DAO and work in conjunction with the office’s Victim Services, Relocation, Community Engagement, and Crisis Assistance, Response, and Engagement for Survivors (C.A.R.E.S.) Units. Each group will receive $90,000 as a one-time augmentation to their fiscal year budgets in furtherance of their work supporting communities that have experienced gun violence and other violent crime. This funding has been appropriated to the DAO by Philadelphia City Council for the office’s fiscal year 2026 budget.

The nine organizations are as follows:

WOAR Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence

Concilio Philadelphia

Support Center for Child Advocates

Northwest Victim Services

Victim/Witness Services of South Philadelphia

Central Division Victims Services

Women Against Abuse

Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia

Northeast Victim Services

“My office is grateful to members of Philadelphia City Council, particularly Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson, for prioritizing this funding in support of these outstanding community-based groups,” said District Attorney Krasner. “Through their critically important work serving victims, co-victims, and witnesses of violent crimes every single day, they also prevent violence and future victimization. At a time when Philadelphia continues to experience dramatic declines in violent crime, it is inexcusable that federal and state officials are defunding success. We cannot take our foot off of the gas.”

“WOAR’s mission is to eliminate all forms of sexual violence through specialized treatment services, comprehensive education programs, and advocacy for the rights of sexual assault survivors,” said Laquisha Anthony, Senior Manager of Advocacy at WOAR Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence. “We know that homicidal and suicidal ideation are very high among survivors, which is why it’s so important that they receive the support that they need to ensure that we don’t see more crimes happening in the aftermath of an assault. We’re grateful to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and Council President Kenyatta Johnson for their support of our organization.”
