“As this round of violence prevention grant awards comes to a close during National Wellness Month, I want to thank these awardees as well as past ones for the critically important work they do every day for our communities,” said District Attorney Krasner. “This work has played a huge role in the historic reductions in violent crime that we are seeing today. I strongly encourage other local nonprofits to apply when the application process reopens later this year. My administration is proud to continue our Violent Prevention Grant Initiative and provide resources to the community groups working to address some of the root causes of crime.”
Applications for additional grant funding are currently not being accepted. The DAO will reopen the application process later this year. 501(c)(3) groups interested in future microgrant opportunities should sign up for email updates from the Foundation for new application deadlines. DAO violence prevention grant funding is derived from the lawful and appropriate use of civil asset forfeiture and is distributed and audited by the Philadelphia Foundation.
