District Attorney Larry Krasner, Philadelphia Foundation Announce Over $300,000 Awarded to Local Groups Working with Elder Victims of Crime

PHILADELPHIA (February 18, 2025) — On Tuesday, District Attorney Larry Krasner and the Philadelphia Foundation awarded $370,000 in violence prevention microgrants to 11 community-based 501(c)(3) organizations that focus on Philadelphia seniors who have been impacted by violence and other crimes. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Violence Prevention Grant Program, in partnership with the Philadelphia Foundation, has awarded over $4 million to community-based nonprofits working to address the root causes of violence since the program’s inception in May 2021.

The awardees are as follows:

Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia (CAGP) is awarded $25,000.

Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE) is awarded $25,000.

Empowered Community Development is awarded $25,000.

Face to Face is awarded $20,000.

First Stop Recovery is awarded $50,000.

Mill Creek Advisory Council is awarded $20,000.

Overbrook West Neighbors is awarded $50,000.

Potter’s House Mission is awarded $50,000.

Rising Hope for Change (RHFC) is awarded $30,000.

Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Association Coalition (SEAMAAAC) is awarded $25,000.

SeniorLAW Center is awarded $50,000.

The application process for the next round of microgrants is currently open. Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) groups focusing on re-entry and workforce development must contact the Philadelphia Foundation to begin the application process at [email protected]. DAO violence prevention grant funding is derived from the lawful and appropriate use of civil asset forfeiture and is distributed and audited by the Philadelphia Foundation.
