PHILADELPHIA (October 30, 2026) — District Attorney Larry Krasner today announced the activation of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Election Task Force (ETF) for the midterm election starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The DAO’s Election Task Force’s role is to investigate and prosecute allegations of Election Day criminal activity.
Polling location complaints and reported infractions of the Pennsylvania Election Code will be thoroughly and even-handedly investigated by the Task Force, in collaboration with partners at the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office, Philadelphia City Commissioners and other agencies. In rare instances and when appropriate, ETF prosecutors will assist in these investigations.
Should voters encounter any violence or physical threats at their polling station, they are urged to call 9-1-1 immediately. Voters who encounter any other irregularities at their polling location can call the following:
- DAO Election Task Force hotline: 215–686–9641.
- The national nonpartisan Election Protection hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE.
- For questions about the election process, contact the Philadelphia City Commissioners Office: 215-686-VOTE.
“The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office urges all who are eligible to exercise their right and vote, and to make a plan to do so,” said District Attorney Larry Krasner. “Regardless of your candidate or party, Philadelphia voters should feel confident that they can go to the polls unencumbered. The Task Force is here to ensure that we continue to have free, fair, and final elections and that every vote is counted.”
“We have been working with local, state, and federal partners to ensure the safety of the election,” said Assistant District Attorney Brian Collins of the DAO’s Election Task Force. “Our goal is to preserve the integrity of the election and maintain the public’s confidence in our democracy.”
“The Philadelphia Police Department stands ready to respond to any and all incidents reported at polling places,” said Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith (Central Detectives Division). “As is the case for every election, we will have a uniformed component and an investigative component to support what we expect to be a smooth operation on Election Day.”
The ETF will continue operating until the certification of every vote, including overseas and military ballots. If you are in line to vote by 8 p.m., you MUST be allowed to cast your ballot.
