For the Commonwealth: Assistant District Attorney Sarah Gordon

For the Commonwealth highlights the important work our prosecutors are doing to help secure justice in specific cases brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorney Sarah Gordon of our Gun Violence Task Force (GVTF) helped secure justice in a case involving a defendant found guilty by a jury of multiple gunpoint robberies that occurred in the Northwest section of the city in 2019. The defendant was accused of robbing a gas station clerk, which took place while the gas station was open, endangering not only the victim but other customers; robbing a close family friend by gaining entry into her home by subterfuge and allowing two masked gunmen to enter, whereupon all three proceeded to rob her; and lastly, he was convicted of terroristic threats against a third individual, who he threatened to shoot during a July 2018 incident. All three victims testified during the trial. The defendant’s criminal record included previous violent conduct including robberies and assaults. The defendant was sentenced this week by the Hon. Anne Marie Coyle.
