Assistant District Attorney Asheeka Desai of our Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit helped secure justice for a now-teenage girl who was repeatedly raped and sexually abused when she was between the ages of eight and twelve years old. The defendant was found guilty of Rape of a Child, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Indecent Assault of a Child, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and numerous related charges. The defendant was previously convicted in Camden County for similar offenses. The defendant will be sentenced by the Honorable Shanese Johnson in December.
