DAO Asset Forfeiture Community Organization Grants

The DAO’s violence prevention grant initiative is derived from the lawful and appropriate use of civil asset forfeiture. The funding is distributed and audited by the Philadelphia Foundation. Civil asset forfeiture funds are seized by law enforcement from criminals, and these funds are redistributed to community-based organizations doing violence prevention work in the same zip code that the assets were seized. DA Krasner and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office remain committed to supporting survivors and communities by funding anti-violence and anti-drug community-based organization.
