On Monday, January 3, 2022, the People’s Virtual Inauguration for Philadelphia District Attorney ushered in DA Larry Krasner for a second term. He was sworn in by the Hon. Lisa Rau, and then delivered remarks, including his administration’s intention to become more active in addressing the trauma and harm caused by gun violence in communities across Philadelphia.
“Hurt people hurt people … As we move forward, we have to understand the incredible damage that is done there,” he said, referring to our city’s gun violence crisis. “And we have to do two things. We have to try to stop it, and we have to try to heal it.”
He also spoke about the continuing, and growing, movement for criminal justice reform.
